01. What is In-Home Services?
Non-medical care services which includes personal care, companionship and supervision, as well as help in the home with the tasks of daily living such as meal preparation, medication reminders, laundry, light housekeeping, errands, shopping, and companionship. Activities of daily living (ADL) refers to six specific activities (bathing, dressing, transferring, using the toilet, eating, and walking) that reflect an individual's capacity for self-care.
02. What type of Services are Provided under the In-Home program?
Meal preparation, medication reminders, laundry, light housekeeping, errands, shopping, and companionship. Activities of daily living (ADL) refers to six specific activities (bathing, dressing, transferring, using the toilet, eating, and walking). Along with Weekly to monthly nurse services to assist with medication education and compliance, skin Monitoring and Diabetic nail care.
03. How do I qualify for this type of Service?
Must be 18 years or older, have active Medicaid with an appropriate Medicaid Eligibility code, and Meet Level of Care by at least 21 points or more and the Prescreen process.
04. Who will work in my Home?
All personal care aides are a certified nurse assistant; a competency evaluated home health aide having completed both written demonstration portions of the test required by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, or have successfully completed and passed a training course to become a caregiver/In-home aide. ALL aides have been screen and background check completed on each individual. All insured and bonded.
05. How much does this service cost to me?
This service is 100% funded by medicaid. Private pay varies depending on an individuals need.
06. What if I’m with another Agency and I want to change?
Changing services is a very simple process. The Client can make the request with 1 st Access and expect the change to happen within 6-8 weeks. The Client will continue to use services at current agency until services are switched.
07. How do I qualify for nurse services?
If the Client is needing assistance with med set up or weekly monitoring the client will only have to express a need to have nurse services added to your care plan. Once authorization is received nurse services can start right away.
08. How many days can an Aide come to help me?
Every Client we serve receives a Custom Care Plan specific to their needs (and budget if paying privately). Several factors help determine the exact care plan:
• Number of hours of care per week
• Level of home care services received (non-medical, skilled nursing, etc.)
• Location where services are needed
09. Can I choose who I want to work for me with this service?
Yes. We encourage your involvement in the decision-making process. And with our screening and selection system, you can rest assured that we do our best to take the guesswork out of matching the right caregiver to you. However, you must be satisfied. We always try to accommodate any requests you may have for a change in caregivers (as allowed by law).
